Ballast Water Treatment - Operations

Operation of Ballast Water Treatment systems

Even the best system in the world will only bring you compliance if operated and maintained correctly. This is all too familiar in our industry. Nevertheless it is only a handful of vendors that look beyond the successful commissioning of a Ballast Water Treatment system.

In our opinion the operational phase is the most important for compliance. After all it is in operations that buttons are pushed and maintenance is done. And when we bring back the observation that the Ballast Water Convention specifies a discharge standard, the awareness must be raised that the port state control will in the end be looking at the quality of the discharge water.

Crew Training:

Having the crew completely aware of regulations and the correct operation & troubleshooting onboard.  We offer a computer based training (CBT) so your crew gets acquainted with regulations and background and various treatment technologies. In addition the operation and troubleshooting of the system will be covered.

After successful completion of the CBT; the training will be continued with a practical session. This can be at the Vendors location, Venteville’s Rotterdam office, or, and this is preferred, onboard with the actual system.
