Steering Repeater Compass

The combined analogue/digital steering repeater compass as standardized module for simple installation in bridge desks, steering stands or casings. The repeater compass is characterized by a large full-view card, 150 mm in diameter. The 1/10degree card permits precise course reading. A digital multifunction display indicates heading information and compass operating data, as well as compass error messages. The illumination is concentrated on the lubber line area and can be dimmed with push-buttons. The digital course transmission system via Anschütz course bus provides absolute course information, so that repeater compass synchronization is no longer necessary.

Bearing & Steering Repeater Compass

For navigational purposes readings of the true course are required in various places on board a ship. Such reading are provided by repeater compasses. Course transmission from the master compass is serial.

The Anschütz Repeater Compass is equipped with a 360degree card and a digital heading indication. A fixed 360degree scale on the graduated ring enables relative bearings to be taken. For positioning the bearing sight, a centering piece is located at the centre of the glass disk. For reflection of the bearing into the bearing sight there is an additional reflected 360degree dial on the 360degree compass card. No manual synchronization is required due to the digital interface.

Digital Repeater Compass

The Digital Repeater Compass can be read easily from different viewings angles at a distance of up to 10 meters. The unit decodes the serial transmission signal of the gyro compass into digital heading information.

Luminous Digital Display: The gyro heading is shown in degree and decimal degrees. The decimal digit is made smaller to prevent erroneous reading.

Tendency Indicator for course changes: The tendency indicator is a ring of solid state lamps (LED's) of which 2 LEDs are lit at he same time. When the ship turns, the LED-indicator rotates, dependent on the direction and analogue to the rate-of-turn, toward starboard in green (increasing heading value) and toward port in red (decreasing value).

Digital Navigation Data Indicator

The navigation data heading, set course, ship's speed and turning rate are indicated on the LEDs and can be selected via the control panel. A tendency indicator in the form of an LED-band shows the turning direction of the ship continually proportional to the turning rate. The rate-of-turn indication (RoT) is given even without external rate gyro signal via synthetic signal formation out of the alternation of the gyro compass course.

The Digital Navigation Data Indication offers a signal output according to NMEA 0183. Thus it is possible, for example, to connect one additional selfsynchronizing repeater indicator each.
