ORION V3: Engine Telegraph System

The ORION V3 is a critical safety device designed to ensure smooth communication between the engine room and the wheelhouse. It guarantees efficient transmission of orders and is ideal for maritime operations requiring precise command relays. The system connects 2 to 5 stations via a single cable using Power Line Communication, simplifying installation.
 
The ORION V3 is available in two versions: flush or cabinet-mounted, and supports three languages—English, French, and Spanish.
 

Key Functions

• Channels: The system supports up to 11 channels, including a “STOP” channel.
• Station Support: Comes standard with 2 stations, with the option to extend to 3 or 5.
• Channel Selection: Managed through an ON/OFF switch with clear LED status indicators.
• Audible Signals: The internal buzzer provides a minimum of 75dB for audible alerts.
• Dimmable Light Indicators: Adjustable for day/night modes.
• Luminous Indicator Testing: Includes a built-in test function.
• Critical Orders: Ensures priority signals are handled efficiently.
• System Fault Detection: Notifies users in case of a control bus failure.
• Control Takeover: Available for systems with 3 or more stations, allowing flexibility in emergencies.

Outputs

• Siren Output: 24VDC/100mA for external sirens.
• System Fault Output: NC dry contact (1A max, 24VDC) for fault notifications.
• Critical Order Output: NO dry contact (1A max, 24VDC) for emergency orders.

Serial Communication

• RS485 Output: Handles two functions:
  • Bridge Panel: Sends data to the VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) at 4800 baud, following the IEC 61162-2 standard.
  • Engine Panel: Communicates with the ORION printer using ASCII protocol.
