Bell and Gong System
The Electromechanical Bell and Gong system is essential for vessels at anchor or aground, especially in restricted visibility conditions. It fully adheres to the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (1972), Rule 33. According to the regulations, vessels 20 meters or longer must have a bell, while those exceeding 100 meters are required to have both a bell and a gong. The Bell KB30 and Gong KG50, equipped with electromagnetic strikers, effectively meet these regulatory requirements.
General Information
Crafted from heavy bronze, the Bell KB30 and Gong KG50 deliver clear, resonant tones, ensuring reliable signaling. Additionally, the system is built with durability in mind, incorporating stainless steel for critical components. Furthermore, an electronic timer controls the system, which is conveniently mounted on the panel. The timer also features an operating switch and three LED indicators to provide easy monitoring of the system’s status.
Moreover, the bell and gong units deliver strong, powerful strokes, contributing to consistent performance. For stable operation, it is essential to securely mount the support structures in a horizontal position using four M10 bolts. Additionally, during signaling, locking the cabinet doors is crucial for maintaining the system’s integrity.
