Levelmaster H8: The Next Generation
The Levelmaster H8 is the latest evolution of Kockum Sonics’ renowned CALM system. It uses the well-established electro-pneumatic “bubble measuring” principle, known for its reliability and robustness. Now in its fourth generation, the H8 integrates cutting-edge sensors and microprocessors to deliver a highly efficient, cost-effective level gauging solution.
At the core of the system is the Sensor and Control Unit (SCU), which handles data acquisition, calibration, control, and transmission. Developed by Kockum Sonics specifically for electro-pneumatic tank and draught gauging, the SCU ensures optimal performance. Each pressure sensor undergoes factory calibration for non-linearity and temperature shifts, while automatic calibration during operation maintains long-term system accuracy. Additionally, the SCU adjusts the required air output for each tank, ensuring efficiency.

Measuring Principle
The Levelmaster H8 employs the electro-pneumatic principle, a proven method that reduces both installation and maintenance costs. Each pressure transmitter measures the hydrostatic pressure for multiple tanks, handling up to six tanks per transmitter. The Digital Flow Controller optimizes airflow by adjusting the main valve’s duty cycle, further improving efficiency.
Pre-calibrated at the factory, the SCU automatically adjusts during operation to maintain its high accuracy, ensuring the system operates reliably throughout its life cycle.
