PHILAE Conventional Fire Detection System

The PHILAE is a versatile conventional fire detection system that supports 4 to 28 zones. It has a total capacity for up to 512 detectors or manual call points, providing extensive coverage for fire safety.
 
The system’s modular design allows the connection of up to three PHILAE_EM extension modules, each offering 8 additional zones, expanding the capacity to a maximum of 28 zones. Each zone can accommodate up to 32 devices, such as manual call points, optical smoke, heat, and flame detectors, including intrinsically safe options.
 
Additionally, the PHILAE system supports up to three repeaters, such as PHILAE_RP, which can log events for locations like the Engine Control Room or Fire Control Room, ensuring comprehensive monitoring.
 

Display

The Philae Fire Detection and Alarm System provides clear status indication with yellow and red LEDs for zone monitoring. Additionally, the system includes bilingual text (English and French by default, with other languages available upon request). An integrated buzzer ensures immediate audio alerts, while customizable labels allow easy zone identification, offering enhanced clarity and personalization.
 

Input

The system features one dedicated general alarm input. This input activates a sequence of 7 short blasts followed by 1 long blast on the siren output, ensuring proper alarm signaling in critical situations.
 

Key Functions

Outputs

The Philae system is equipped with several outputs:

• Siren Output: Monitored, 24VDC with a 0.5A maximum capacity.
• Fire Output: Dry contact, N.O., with a 1A maximum capacity.
• Fault Output: Dry contact, N.C., with a 1A maximum capacity.
• Unacknowledged Fire Alert (2 min): Dry contact, N.O., with a 1A maximum capacity.

Communication

• NET1 Output: Connects to VDR via IEC-61162-2 and NMEA 0183 standards (ASCII, 4800 bauds, 8/N/1).
• NET2 Output: Supports Modbus RTU RS485 SLAVE for communication with external equipment (9600 bauds, 8/N/1). A dedicated port is available if a repeater is used.

The Philae Fire Detection and Fire Alarm System is certified with the Marine Equipment Directive (MED), ensuring compliance with industry standards and offering reliable fire safety management.
